This set has a third position on the wave change switch to allow for a bandspread. Radio Luxombourg was (is) very popular but at night it was crowded by other stations. This facility allowed the radio to tune from 178 - 211 metres across the whole dial, spreading out adjacent stations. Radio Luxombourg was on 208m.
